Set a New Card as the Default During Operator Checkout

We’ve introduced a streamlined way for operators to set a new payment card as the default fund directly from the Jumbo Lottery Platform(JLP) admin checkout screen.

    What’s New

Operators now see a “Make this card the default” checkbox when adding a new card during checkout for a supporter who already has an existing default payment method.

    Why It Matters

Until now, the process for setting a new default card had limitations:

    • When adding the first card, it was automatically set as the default.
    • When adding a subsequent card, operators had to go to the Customer Card page to manually update the default fund setting if the supporter want to use the new card as the default payment.

Now, this manual process is eliminated. Operators can set the newly added card as default directly from the checkout screen, improving efficiency and user experience.

    How It Works

    • The “Make this card the default” checkbox appears when:
      • The supporter already has at least one card saved with a default set.
      • A new card is being entered during the operator checkout flow.
    • If selected, the new card becomes the supporter’s default fund for future transactions.

    • When manually adding a card on a supporter’s profile in JLP Admin, a “Make this card the default” checkbox is available.
    • This option is now also available when adding a card via Payshield, including for supporters using IVR payments that route through Payshield.

This enhancement streamlines card management across all payment paths including those processed through Payshield and ensures a consistent experience for operators during both standard and IVR-related transactions.
