Connecting Braze and Amplitude: Enhancing Lifecycle Marketing with Cohort Sync and Campaign Insights

    Overview

    If you're using both Amplitude and Braze, you can enhance your marketing performance by connecting these platforms directly. This integration allows:

    • Seamless cohort syncing from Amplitude to Braze for campaign targeting
    • Optional engagement data streaming from Braze to Amplitude for deeper journey analysis

    This is a direct integration between Amplitude and Braze. It is independent of the Jumbo Lottery Platform (JLP). Jumbo does not configure or manage this connection but is happy to support troubleshooting if needed.

    For setup and strategic guidance, we recommend working with your Amplitude and Braze Customer Success Managers.

    What the Integration Enables

    Amplitude → Braze: Cohort Sync

    You can send behaviour-based Amplitude cohorts into Braze to power dynamic segmentation and personalisation. These cohorts can be based on any event data flowing into Amplitude via JLP (through Segment).

    Once synced, cohorts appear in Braze as native segments. They can be used in:

    • Email, push, and in-app campaigns
    • Canvas journey flows
    • A/B tests and targeting rules
    • Triggered and transactional messages

    Use Case Example:
    Create a cohort of supporters who dropped out at the "Cart Viewed" stage and re-engage them via Braze with a targeted message featuring prize highlights.

     

    Braze → Amplitude (Optional): Campaign Engagement Streaming

    You can stream message-level engagement data — such as opens, clicks, deliveries, and conversions — from Braze into Amplitude. This enables:

    • Funnel views that include marketing touches
    • Correlation analysis between messages and supporter actions
    • Segmentation based on message responsiveness
    • Insights into how messaging drives downstream conversion or retention

    Use Case Example:
    Track how a Braze push campaign impacted Purchase Completed events using a combined Amplitude funnel view.

    • Uses Braze Currents to stream data into Amplitude
    • Engagement events are sent using Braze’s real-time data pipeline

    Setup Requirements

    • API keys and REST endpoints for both tools
    • Admin access and permission configuration
    • Setup typically managed by the marketing or data team

    Behaviour-Based Targeting Target a cohort of players who added a product but didn’t purchase within 24 hours using a Braze re-engagement message.
    Loyalty Reactivation Identify subscribers whose recurring payments failed more than once. Send a win-back campaign via Braze.
    Campaign Performance Feedback Stream message opens and clicks from Braze into Amplitude. Evaluate if campaigns led to conversions or subscription recovery.

    • Jumbo does not configure or manage this integration
    • Your Amplitude and Braze success teams are best placed to guide setup
    • Jumbo can assist with:
      • Verifying that JLP events are correctly flowing to both tools
      • Troubleshooting event structure or cohort logic
    • This integration performs best when JLP is already streaming events into both tools via Segment
