With Automatic Draw Closure by Maximum TTV, draws can now close automatically when the permitted ticket sales value is reached, as opposed to the number of tickets available in the ticket allocation. This removes the need for manual sales monitoring and helps ensure draws stay within their approved limits.
Why this matters
Previously, operators needed to manually track ticket sales throughout the life of a draw to ensure the total ticket value (TTV) didn’t exceed the limit set by their permit.
This could be time-consuming and difficult to manage - particularly because the Metrics DB updates every 30 mins, Amplitude isn’t a reconciliation tool and TTV limits can be reached outside of business hours. To avoid the risk of overselling, many teams would close draws early, leaving potential revenue on the table.
This new feature removes that burden by letting the platform manage the threshold automatically.
What’s new
Automatic draw closure
You can now configure a maximum draw TTV cap in JLP Admin. When ticket sales reach this threshold, or a single sale of the minimum ticket book value will result in TTV going over the cap, the draw will automatically close. The feature also supports API sales channels, ensuring the same compliance protections apply regardless of where tickets are purchased.
Note: Cancelled tickets (prior to a draw being sold out or closed) will be removed from the TTV cap calculation.
Permit compliance built in
The platform ensures that ticket sales cannot exceed the permitted TTV cap, helping maintain compliance with draw permit requirements.
Clear reporting
TTV allocation alerts, charts and reporting will show when a draw has been closed due to the TTV threshold, giving operators clear visibility into draw performance.
Ticket validation
If a ticket purchase would exceed the remaining value available in the draw, the transaction will be rejected to ensure the cap is respected.
The impact
This update helps lottery teams:
- Stay fully compliant with permit sales limits
- Remove manual monitoring, including weekend and after-hours checks
- Maximise draw revenue by selling up to the permitted limit
- Reduce operational risk caused by reporting delays
What to expect
Teams simply configure the maximum TTV during draw setup in JLP Admin. The platform will handle the rest - automatically closing the draw when the limit is reached.
