You can now add a review step to your content. With content approvals switched on, changes to your pages, modals, blog posts and translations are checked and signed off by a second person before they go live, and every step is recorded so you can see who did what.
Why this matters
Until now, anyone with editing access could publish straight to your live site. Content approvals give your team a simple check-and-publish process, so typos, out-of-date details or unapproved changes are caught before supporters see them.
What's new
Two new capabilities
- Content Contributor (Approval Flow) – create and edit content, then submit it for review
- Content Approver (Approval Flow) – review, publish and unpublish content, and promote new versions
You can assign these under Admin > Operations > Manage operators > Manage operator roles.
Note: For approvals to work, give each operator only one of these capabilities. Operators who also hold Content Editor, Site Editor or Admin access can still publish without approval.
One place to review
Approvers can see everything waiting for them at Admin > Operations > Content Approvals, compare changes against the previous version, and publish or send content back to draft.
Safe updates to live content
Changes to published content are made in a new version, so supporters keep seeing the current version while the update is reviewed. Once it's approved, the new version is promoted and goes live.
A full audit trail
The Revisions tab and Audit History show who was involved in each change, from creation to publishing.
For step-by-step instructions, see Review and approve CMS content [link to add once live].
Who this impacts
Content approvals are available on the Jumbo Lottery Platform (JLP) and are switched off by default. If you'd like them turned on for your site, contact your Customer Success Manager.
