1. Locate The Customer’s Account
Search for the customer’s details using the quick search field. Ensure you have located the correct account before any changes are made to the password. See How To Search For A Customer for more details.
2. Unlocking A Locked Account
After 5 password attempts the account will automatically lock for security purposes. If this has occurred you will see an indication that the account has been locked along with a red locked symbol.
Please note if the account is locked and a password reset is processed, the customer will still be unable to access their account.
Click the unlock account hyperlink. You will see a pop-up confirming the account unlock action. There is also a field to leave a note regarding the action if you choose. This is not compulsory.
Click the Unlock this account button to process the unlock the customer’s account.
3. Resetting A Password
Now that the account is unlocked you will be able to perform a password reset. Find the reset password button in the customer details section and click it.
A popup window that confirms the reset code has been generated should appear along with the Password reset code.
You may choose to supply the customer with the password reset code, however, be mindful that this code only lasts for 10 minutes before it becomes unusable.
To email the customer a password reset link please click the Send password reset email button.
This will automatically generate and email the customer a password reset link to the email address registered on their account. This link will last for 24 hours before the link becomes unusable.
Once the customer has either clicked the link or attempted to log in with the 4-digit temporary password, they will be prompted to enter and confirm a new password.
