Event Segmentation is the foundational Amplitude chart. It shows what your users are doing with your product. Below are some helpful articles on how you can build and use the Event Segmentation chart.

Basics
- The Events Module (top left) – is where you select the event you want to include in your analysis
- The Segmentation Module (top right) – is where you’ll define and identify the specific subset of users you are interested in
- The Metrics Module (bottom) – is the appearance and features of your analysis
Events Module
This module is the core of your analysis. It can be anything from pushing a button, to completing a purchase or emptying the cart.
To add an event simply click “Select event or metric … “
This will bring up all available events you can choose from.
You then can specify to filter the event with more “where” parameters and finally group it
Segmentation Module
Amplitude’s Segmentation Module lets you create groups of users to analyze. These groups are called segments, and they can be as broad as your entire user base, or very narrowly tailored to match a highly-specific set of user properties.
Same logic here, you can select the property a user should have e.g. state, pricin_id, specific event
