How To Obtain Required PayPal Credentials

    Powered by Jumbo supports PayPal as a payment option on your PBJ instance. This article aims to provide a step-by-step guide on how to obtain the details we need to connect your PayPal instance to your PBJ website.

    Prerequisites

    PayPal Developer Site

    You will need to configure your account from the PayPal Developer site in order to obtain the API Client ID and Client Secret.

    1. Login To The PayPal Dashboard

    Navigate to developer.paypal.com and select “Log in to Dashboard” on the top right.

    Once logged in, select Dashboard from the drop down menu on the top right-hand side of the page.

    2. Configure REST API

    Under the Dashboard menu, select My Apps & Credentials and select the Live option.

    3. Create App

    Under the App name column, select Create app.

    Create a new app by providing a name and clicking Create App.

    4. View Client ID And Secret

    To obtain the Client ID and Secret, select the App created in the last step.

    Copy the Client ID And Secret and save in a secure document.

    PayPal Business Dashboard

    The PayPal Dashboard is where you will get the API UsernameAPI Password, and Signature.

    1. Login To Paypal

    Go to https://www.paypal.com/signin and enter your details on the login page.

    2. Select Account Settings

    You can find this under the dropdown menu from the top right-hand side of the page.

    3. Locate API Access

    Once you locate API Access, click the Update button.

    4. Select Manage API Credentials

    You will see this link when you scroll down on the page to NVP/SOAP API Integration (Classic).

    5. View API Credentials

    Hit the Show button beside the API username, API password, and Signature.

    You will then copy the credentials for the API usernameAPI password, and Signature and paste them in a secure document. 

    Once all the credentials have been located, share them via a secure document with your Client Success Team.
